It's summertime, no one wants to slave over a hot stove for hours just to have a nice dinner all eaten in 10 minutes. And the clean up...hard pass, thanks. We took turkey dinner and turned it into a burger like Harry Potter. Spiced turkey patties, buns made out of dressing, cranberry sauce, and potato pancakes to finish it off. Mic drop. ecipe: Burger patties 1. Mix 2 lbs of quality ground turkey with 1/4 cup of oats, 1/2 tsp cumin, 2 egg whites, 1 clove of garlic minced, a bunch of parsley, 1/4 cup chopped onion, and salt and pepper to taste. 2. Grill over low-medium direct heat until they reach an internal temperature of 180 degrees. 3. Buns are basically stuffing. Mix 3 cups white flour, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 1/2 tsp yeast, and 1 cup of warm water. Add 1 tsp poultry seasoning, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/4 cup each slivered almonds, sautéed chopped red pepper and chopped onions, and salt and pepper to taste. Knead well, let rise covered for 30 mins, knead again and let rise covered for 10 mins. Form into buns and bake in a greased pan for 20 mins or until golden brown, or bake in a seasoned cast iron pan over low indirect heat on the grill. Cranberry sauce 1. Equal parts water and sugar, 1/4 cup of each per cup of cranberries. 2. Allow sugar to simmer and dissolve, stir in cranberries and let simmer for 15 mins. 3. Serve cool. Potato pancake 1. Shred 3 potatoes. Mix with 1 egg, 1 heaping tbsp flour, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, and melted butter. 2. Form into 4-inch pancakes and fry in a seasoned cast iron pan or skillet over medium heat, turning once. Layer potato, burger, cranberry sauce, and top with mayo. Want more grill rebellion?
