Cedar planked spaghetti on the BBQ? Mmmm, just like Momma never made. 1. Soak a cedar plank for 2 hours before cooking. Boil your favourite spaghetti with a splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Drain when done and let rest. 2. Mix diced tomatoes, a small can of tomato paste, your favourite veggies and spices (oregano, basil, and black pepper), and a bunch of spinach with your favourite BBQ sauce. Let simmer over medium heat on the stove or your gas BBQ burner. 3. Mix 1 lb of ground beef with one egg, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, and your favourite spice mix (taco spice is BBQ Rebel's choice). Roll into meatballs as big as you like and arrange in a cast iron pan. Place pan on the grill over medium direct heat for about 15 minutes, then use tongs to flip them. Cook until browned on all sides. 4. Arrange the pasta on the plank. Build up the sides and ends leaving a trench in the middle. Using a ladle, fill the trench slowly and evenly. Place a layer of pasta around the edge after all the sauce is laid to keep it in. Put your meatballs on top and cover with shredded cheese. 5. Place your badass spaghetti on the grill over medium-high indirect heat for 20-25 minutes, remove and let sit for 5 minutes. Cut servings with a sharp knife and serve. Want more grill rebellion?
