Yes yes y'all - it's National Hot Dog Day. I don't care where you are, that's reason to celebrate. We fêted this sacred day by planking hot dogs...the whole thing. Made the buns from scratch and BBQ'd those bad boys raw right on the plank.
Recipe: Dough: 2 cups white flour 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp sugar 1 cup warm water 1 tbsp of oil 1 tsp of yeast 4 x jumbo hotdogs 1. Soak a plank for 2 hours. Make your dough by mixing together all the ingredients in a bowl and let rise for at least 30 minutes. 2, Cut dough into 4 and roll into 6 inch rolls. Take a weiner and press into the middle, grabbing some of the sides and pulling up over. 3. Place on the grill at 400 for 15 minutes. On my Weber, I leave all burners on just below half. Serve with your favourite condiments. Get it into ya! Want more grill rebellion? Check out @BBQRebel on Instagram.

Fusilli Parmesan pesto with chicken in a white wine reduction. Nothing reduced about that grilled taste, fam.
We took these bad boys to the beach and ate 'em. Who doesn't like a good chicken salad sandwich on a hot summer day? Might seem like a long recipe for sandwiches but, trust us, they're worth it.
CHALLENGE ISSUED BY: Catelli Pasta, a Canadian pasta maker with a rich history of kick-ass hustle on the part of an Italian immigrant and his family. Check them out and read their story, then go buy some pasta and grill it.
Thank goodness for the Italians, eh? They sure know how to make flavourful, rich, and cheesy dishes. We didn't want to mess with a classic too much, except we did it on the grill. Grill baking is awesome, just keep an eye on your temperature. The good folks at Catelli make a good noodle for grilling. They can take the heat, crisp nicely, and hold their shape. Pick up some of their stuff before you do any pasta on the grill.
It's summertime, no one wants to slave over a hot stove for hours just to have a nice dinner all eaten in 10 minutes. And the clean up...hard pass, thanks.
We took turkey dinner and turned it into a burger like Harry Potter. Spiced turkey patties, buns made out of dressing, cranberry sauce, and potato pancakes to finish it off. Mic drop. Morning, rebels. This spicy breakfast scramble is so easy you can make it a) before coffee and b) before your "date" wakes up.
Resisting the urge to add bacon to everything is hard. We broke down this time and are we ever glad we did. Using cast iron to grill bake is tricky but as long as you're on top of stirring and keeping an eye on things, it's handy and distributes the heat evenly.
